According to sources who are familiar with the case, YoniShlomo spends much of his time in Israel away from his family (Dinah admitted that this is a blessing for her), claiming that he is working on a new album,and this is also what he told the court in order to justify his absence from hishome.

(Two weeks ago, Dinah traveled to NY for the Chabad Shluchosconference and left the children with him. There are no incidents toreport about Yoni’s behavior with the kids during that time.)

Paris, France - [VLD] –Yoni Shlomo who has denied abusinghis children is also facing allegations of abusing his wife, Dinah. YoniShlomo, the Chasidic singer (who has three children) has been engulfed in achild abuse scandal which resulted in a Police investigation.

In a police deposition filed by Dinah, she also describes thehorrors she endures from her husband Yoni Shlomo:

After the publication on this site of the article entitled "The Yoni Shlomo Zerbib Saga: An Act of Family Terrorism, Yoni Shlomo went on another destruction path. After cursing his wife and swearing to divorce her, he went on to pack up and left the house. According to our sources, he is now staying at a hotel in Paris.

According to some family members, Yoni Shlomo became furious when he read that the news of a new music album leaked to VLD, and he blamed his wife for it.

As of the writing of this story, we have no confirmation if he came back home for Shabbat.

Paris, France -VLD- Yoni Shlomo just came back from Israel where he spent his early winter vacation alone. The nature of his trip to Israel is unknown. But some speculate that he wants to produce a new album in the hope to improve his reputation which suffered a severe blow in the last few years.

“He left me and the kids again for ten days” said his wife Dinah. She explained that she is overwhelmed with working a job every day and taking care of three children without the help of her husband.

“The kids are suffering greatly from this situation, and their behavior is becoming more difficult to control” said Dinah. Dinah is now seeing a psychotherapist on a weekly basis.

Yoni Shlomo continues his double personality game. In public, at the synagogue or in front of people he acts as a caring and loving individual. Several weeks ago, he attended the public Chanukah lightnings of the Loubavitch community in Paris. At these events, he was photographed holding his youngest daughter Chana and smiling to the camera. (see picture above). What people don’t know is that he hasn’t taken care of Chana for months. But in public he wants (and needs) to be perceived as the ideal and loving father.

Furthermore, Yoni Shlomo prays every day and carries with him books and pamphlets to promote his love for Torah study. “I would never believe that this guy is a monster at home” said Rabbi Yaakov Bitton, director of Chabad of Sarcelles, a suburb near Paris.

Paris, France – [VLD] -Yoni Shlomo Zerbib wore a jumpsuitafter he was arrested by the French police. He then told his wife Dinah “Thiswas the most humiliating day of my life and this is all your fault”.

Yoni Shlomo Zerbib, a Chasidic singer, who has been engulfedin a child abuse scandal against his own children, was arrested by the Frenchpolice after his wife Dinah and her family reported his violentbehavior to the police in Paris in the summer of 2009. He was arrested soon after. The couple isstill married and resides in Paris, France.

The story was first published by the Chasidic website CrownHeights.info in January 2010. Since then, Yoni Shlomo had been arrested by the French authoritiesin order to answer questions about his violence against his children.The police investigation is still pending. Yoni Shlomo didn’t stop there. He made sure to blame hiswife for his misery. “this is all your fault. You told them about me. You arehurting their (his children) father and if I die it will be your entire fault”.He told Dinah.

“They made me take off my cloths and I stood naked in frontof them. They searched me all over while I was naked. Then, they made me wear ajumpsuit like a prisoner. This was the most humiliating day of my life”. Thesinger told his wife Dinah after his release.

Dinah’s family consulted experts on the subject of abuse.All agreed that this behavior can only confirm a serious mental disorder. Dr.Abraham Twerski from NY clearly recommended to get him serious mental help.

Unfortunately, the singer refused to seek help saying “mywife needs to get her head fixed, not me”.

New York, NY – [VLD] – Since March 2010, Yoni Shlomo has refused toappear in front of the “Vaad Harabanim Haklali Shel Rannanei Chabad”, theofficial court of the Chabad movement located at the Chabad headquartersat 770 Eastern Parkway, NY.

The court appearance request came after Yoni Shlomo signed aletter to Mr. Yosef Taieb, the controversial leader of the Vincennes Chabad community(a suburb of Paris), asking him to summon the Cohen family to a Din Torah. His reason: Motzi Shem Ra (defamation) andMazik Laparnasa (damaging his livelihood).

The Cohen family responded unequivocally that Yoni Zerbib shouldappear in the NY Chabad court, as the Jewish law stipulates that aplaintiff should follow the defendant to his court of choice.

But Yoni Shlomo refused to submit his claims and to appear inthe NY court. He couldn’t bring his empty charges to anestablished and recognized Beis Din for three reasons:

1-The charges will be turned back against him. As the hard andfounded evidence of wife and children abuse which took place in his home willbe turned over to the court.

2-Mr. Taieb who has supported Yoni Shlomo in his battle againsthis wife is the only person who would stand in his defense. No other Rabbis wouldcome out to support a child and wife abuser.

3- Mr. Taieb has established an unrecognized Beis Din. He right away engaged Rabbi Y. Hakak, a Rabbi living in Jerusalem,to serve as a judge. The name of his newly formed court is: “Chalom VaTsedek,” This new court is extremely contentious and has yet to be accepted by the community at large.

Paris, France - VLD - The editor of WhoIsYoniShlomo.com has received an Halachic order (Psak Din) from a Beis Din to remove the video and the story of the father beating up his daughter by the Kotel.

The site which reports the child and wife abuse case and the police investigation on the Chasidic singer Yoni Shlomo Zerbib, posted a story with a direct link of the footage.

After investigating and consulting with Rabbis, the Beis Din (who was not named) has ordered VLD to remove completely the story from the site.

VLD has agreed to delete the story without further comment.

Family Vacation Plans: Yoni Shlomo in Natanya, Dinah in Deauville.

Paris, France - [VLD] - This year, Yoni Shlomo made plans again. He is going to spend his August vacation with his daughter Sheina in Natanya Israel, while Dinah made her own plans to take her youngest children to Deauville beach near Paris.

The vacation plans were disclosed by friends of the family who asked to remain anonymous.

Yoni Shlomo has worked hard to keep his marriage alive after being charged by his wife of abusing his children and sexually assaulting her. Last year, the French police opened an investigation, and Yoni Shlomo was ordered by the court to get psychotherapy treatment. The investigation is still pending.

Over the last several months, Dinah has publicly acknowledged her desire to file for a divorce but never finalized the procedure. She wants the possibility to arrange the problems with Yoni Shlomo.

However to spend the summer vacation separated and in different countries, can only suggest that things are not going well for the embattled couple.

Moscow, Russia - [VLD] - After years of fighting his wife and abusing his kids, Yoni Shlomo Zerbib was back on stage in Moscow last week, for the wedding of the Lazar family.

“It was a surprise to see him there” said Shalom who attended the wedding. “I thought that after the abuse scandal with his children, people won’t hire him.” But the fact is that Yoni seems to reappear again on stage in [events of] the Chabad community.

In May 2011, Yoni Shlomo’s wife Dinah confided that she had filed for a divorce with her attorney. She also mentioned that Yoni is less violent with the children since the police investigation started last year.

Paris, France – [VLD] –- A few weeks before Passover 2011, Dinah made a deal that could have changed her life forever. She pawned her jewelry as a guaranty that she will divorce her abusive husband, Yoni Shlomo. The money would help pay for the divorce attorney fees.

Dinah and her 3 children, have been suffering from Yoni's violent and abusive behavior for 10 years. Dinah tried once to get a divorce, but Yoni, who is viciously smart and ruthless, has convinced her to stay married to him.

Yoni Shlomo, a world renowned Chasidic singer, has seen his singing career plummeting in 2009, when he was arrested by the French police for abusing his children. Many accounts came forth from his wife Dinah and her family about the physical abuse and maltreatment of the children. A police investigation was initiated and is still pending.

This year, several weeks before the holiday of Passover, Dinah decided to put an end to her misery and gave up her jewelry and proclaimed: “I can no longer continue my life with him. I will divorce him this time.”

Final Stage?: Yoni Shlomo to Rabbi Schlesinger: 'Please Give Get'.

Paris, France – [VLD]-Yoni Shlomo wrote a letter to Rabbi A. Schlesiger of Geneva, asking him to proceed with a divorce.

“This life became unbearable; I don’t see how things can get better. I would need a miracle bigger than Kriat Yam Souf (the split of the sea) in order to salvage my marriage,” Yoni Shlomo wrote to Schlisinger.

Yoni Shlomo has been abusing his wife and kids for the last several years. He is still under investigation by the French police for child abuse.

The letter (which will be soon available to the public) reveals how seriously disconnected he is from the situation. Yoni firmly believes that his failed marriage (and career) is to be blamed on his wife.

Last week, Yoni Shlomo threatened his wife Dinah to take the children away to Israel and never come back. Afraid and fearful, Dinah took the passports and family documents and put them away in a secured and unidentified location.

After consulting her attorney, Dinah was reassured that kidnapping the children and taking them to Israel is a serious crime that the Israeli authorities are very serious about. If Yoni Shlomo break the law, he will end up in jail.

Yoni Shlomo became extremely violent and abusive since his wife asked for a divorce. He demanded that the divorce should be handled “a l’amiable”, (amiable divorce) and that she talks to his attorney only. Otherwise, he threatened. “I will use the recordings I have of Shaina, (the oldest daughter), to convince the court that you are crazy.

Dinah is afraid but is resolute not to be forced to follow his way.

Delusional Disorder? Yoni Shlomo Warns: I Will Remarry in Two Years.

Paris, France -[VLD]- Abandoning his family for over three weeks, while in Israel, Yoni Shlomo went home. It was not long before chaos began and fear reigned; Yoni raised his hand and struck his wife and children and, to unwind further, he punched the doors in the house.

Meantime, Dinah retained an attorney and filed for divorce. When Yoni Shlomo received the certified mail asking him to reply, his fury knew no bounds, and he told Dinah, "You will see, I will remarry within two years, but you ... you will never remarry."

In order to retain control, he bought his nine-year-old daughter, Shaina, a cell phone, and every time he speaks to her, he tries to incite the child to badmouth her mother, while taping their conversation; he told Dinah, "The recordings will show the court how crazy you are, and I will get full custody of the children."

Last Saturday night, Rabbi Elhanan Marasow and his wife Esty (daughter of Moule Azimov, the spiritual leader of the Chabad community in Paris), celebrated the bar mitzvah of their son; Yoni Shlomo was at the event, and sang proudly on stage, knowing he was entertaining the guests. When asked why she hired Yoni Shlomo, being aware of the atrocity he afflicted on his family, Esty answered, "Because of one person (Dinah), I will not deprive 400 people." No comment is necessary.

The situation is extremely difficult in the house. Dinah called the police a number of times since Yoni's return. Thankfully, Dinah has the support and love of her immediate family to give her courage and strength to ride out these bad times. Let's hope the battle ends soon.

Rabbi: Violent husbands should be ostracized

Yaakov Ariel's ruling that abusive husbands should be excluded from Jewish activity is part of larger movement in religious community opposing domestic violence.

On the same day that the Jerusalem District Court convicted self-proclaimed rabbi Elior Chen for a long list of abuse charges, Ramat Gan Chief Rabbi Yaakov Ariel published a ruling asserting that a man who abuses his wife should be barred from participating in a prayer or any other Jewish activity.

The prominent rabbi, who heads Tzohar, a union of Zionist Religious rabbis, also ruled that a violent husband should be excommunicated – a tough and unusual punishment reserved by the Jewish law for those committing grave religious and moral violations.

"This is an explicit ruling in Shulchan Aruch (code of Jewish law), that a man who hits his friend is to be excommunicated," Ariel wrote on the Yeshiva website. "All the more so with a man who hits his wife."

The Tzohar rabbis announced recently the union's position on the matter, stating that the religious community is expected not to include a violent husband in prayers, to forbid him to participate in ritual Torah readings, and to prevent him from serving in any public position. Ariel's ruling provides Jewish law backing to their position.

'Stop ignoring domestic violence'

Rabbi Uriel Genzel, the director of the Tzohar Lehakika (Window for Legislation) initiative, which provides Knesset members with Jewish-focused opinion on issues relating to legislation, put together a document on the subject of family violence, and presented it during a recent meeting of the Knesset's Committee on the Status of Women.

"The attitude that calls every person to stop being indifferent to violence against women needs to be shown in every social circle, whether it's within the religious community of outside it," he wrote. "The community's treatment of a member who acts violently constitutes a test of the community's morality."

Excommunication, a boycott of lectures and performances, and avoiding featuring him in the media are among the sanctions that Genzel proposed to be implemented against a man who abuses his wife.

Jewish law, Genzel wrote, forbids idly standing by while a neighbor is in trouble.

Another Tragedy: Can Yoni Shlomo Be Another Elior Chen?

Paris, France - [VLD] - Elior Chen abused his children; he starved them, locked up in a closet, and he burned them. Yoni Shlomo beat his children with a belt, and punched them in the face. Not to mention, he abused his wife, sexually; using a television's remote control. What's the difference between these two psychopaths? The former was sentenced to 20 years in jail, while the latter remains free and sings in public.

Last month, the Israeli nation calmed the world when it sentenced Elior Chen to 20 years in jail for the crimes he committed on his children; which left one of them comatose. This sentence was far from a surprise, because everyone expected it; after all, a man who abuses his children, must pay for his crime. The only regret in the hearts of many, if the justice system would have investigated the case earlier, perhaps the life of a child could have been saved.

However, it is not being said that Yoni Shlomo has reached the lowest rung of humanity, as Elior Chen, but in the last few years, his bad behavior seems to be the new trend.

According to the police depositions made by his wife Dinah (available on www.whoisyonishlomo.com), Yoni Shlomo is brutal and violent. He beats his children with wire cables and hangers. He punched his daughter Shaina in the face, and broke a tooth. He once beat her so badly, she had a serious nose bleed, and a black and blue eye; at that time, doctors were consulted. Furthermore, a psychotherapist was called in, to talk to all the children.

The French police opened an investigation after Dinah reported the incidents to the police, and the investigation is still open. In the meanwhile, Dinah is

frightened, as she points out, "Yoni is getting worse by the minute, and there is no doubt in my mind that if this continues, Yoni will commit a fatal error. Already, when he was angry and driving like a lunatic, he almost killed a pedestrian, and injured the person severely. His license has been revoked, and yet, he still drives."

Alas, Yoni Shlomo is still a free bird; he is free to walk on the streets of Paris and Natanya.

A psychopath has a total lack of empathy, and is capable of amoral conduct, while outwardly, he/she appears normal. This can be seen in pictures of Yoni Shlomo. He appears quite normal, but underneath he is a brute; quite capable of hurting anyone who displeases him. His violence is what makes his family dread him, as soon as he steps through the door.

Although we stated that Yoni Shlomo has not yet reached the nadir, we wonder, can Yoni Shlomo be the next Elior Chen? We do feel that unless he is stopped, there is no doubt he is capable of causing fatal damages to his family.

Weekly Update:

Yoni Shlomo left his home a few minutes before shabbat with a suitcase. He took all his belongings and moved out. After Shabbat, he came back to pick up some more stuff. He is now living in a secret location. His wife and children are now left alone.

Last week, Yoni Shlomo went in front of the judge to answer about his conduct with his children. He warned his wife Dinah before entering the court room, to lie to the judge about his psychotherapy and his behavior. Yoni Shlomo told the judge that he was an exemplary father, buying sweets and toys for his kids. The police investigation is continuing.

This week Yoni Shlomo is going to sing in Marseille, France. We do not know who hired him.

This week, Dinah is going to her divorce attorney.

Family Priority: While Yoni Shlomo is Willing to Cover His Parent's Expenses, His Wife Dinah is Left Without an Oven.

Paris, France - [VLD]-Last weekend, Yoni Shlomo's wife, Dinah, had no working oven to bake the challa bread for Shabbath. This forced Dinah to travel with her three children to a friend, who had a working oven. And why is it that Dinah has no oven that works? Because her husband, Yoni Shlomo, refused to spend the money to get it fixed.

"Life is becoming impossible," Dinah said in a telephone conversation. "He earns money in Israel when he sings, but instead of caring for his wife and children, his priority is his mother Michelle in Natanyah. He gives her money all the time to pay for her expenses, and yet, ignores his children and their needs.

This latest development serves to confirm Yoni Shlomo's abusive character. Yoni Shlomo, who has been accused by his wife of violently beating her and his children, lives part of the time in Israel, with his mother, and is refusing to divorce his wife.

But justice awaits Yoni Shlomo. In the next few weeks, he will have to again face an arbitrary judge, and answer to the allegations of child abuse, which is currently under investigation by the French police.

Dinah was succinct. "He was instructed by the court to go for psychotherapy. He hasn't done it. I will not lie to the court."

As time goes by, the situation in deteriorating. The children are overwhelmed by this unstable lifestyle. Dinah, who is now working as a teacher, is solely handling all the responsibilities, and it is a hardship; the rent is unpaid, the school tuition hasn't been paid in months; the bills keep piling up. (Side note: Dinah has admitted that she asked the administration of the Beth Haya Mouchka school not to overlook the tuition fees, because the children's father is not destitute, and he should pay for his children's education) This is in spite of the recent documents that show that Yoni Shlomo borrowed thousands of euros, maxed out credit cards, and not surprisingly, accumulated mountain of debts in order to sustain his lavish personal lifestyle. While Yoni Shlomo would have no problems running to Israel; away from his family and financial responsibilities, Dinah must stay to care of their three children.

Lately, Dinah has committed herself, for the sake of sanity, and more important, for the sake of the children, to proceed with and obtain a legal divorce. However, Yoni Shlomo's manipulation tactics and deceiving manner will be an immense challenge she will have to overcome.

Weekly Update: Yoni Shlomo Leaves Again to Israel Without a Date of Return.

Today, Yoni Shlomo left Paris and will be living by his mother in Natanya, Israel, indefinitely. Before leaving the house, he made sure to torture his wife and kids. He told his daughter Shaina: "you will see, I will bury you." A few hours later, before his flight, he sent a text message to Dinah saying "I regret what I said."

He also swore that this time he is not coming back. Needless to say that Dinah never received the divorce papers from the lawyer, Buchinger. Again he's using words and threats to manipulate and scare Dinah.

He gave his wife a check for 300 euros for sustaining the house. According to Dinah, the rent, the tuition, the phone and electric bills haven’t been paid. According to a source in kfar Chabad, Yoni Shlomo will be signing in Israel in many places, including in Natanya for the 19 Kislev celebration, where he will earn 2500 shekels. His wife Dinah has said again, "I don't know where the money is going, but it's not going to pay for the family expenses."

Yoni Shlomo will be driving in Israel with a suspended license. in fact, his drivers license has been suspended in France for major traffic violations (including running over a person). The car rental company In Kfar Chabad, where he rents his car, do not check the validity of international licenses before releasing a car. Legally, he will be committing a major violation when he drives in Israel.

Dinah is committed to ask for a Get. In the next few days, she will be meeting with the Consistoire of Paris and lawyers to discuss the next step.

Yoni Shlomo told his wife Dinah to expect on Monday (Nov. 15, 2010) divorce papers from the Jewish attorney Buchinger . Dinah responded that she will also file divorce papers with an attorney.

Over the weekend, Dinah and her family were commemorating the death anniversary (Yor Tzeit) of their grandmother, Gitel-Gisele Kandel (H”A). After Shabbat, Dinah visited her parents with Sheina, her oldest daughter. During the visit, Sheina was emotionally disturbed and was crying. When she was questioned about the crying, she said that her father (Yoni Shlomo) explained to her that a dead person after a while becomes a skeleton, “my father told me to stop crying on my bubby because she is already a skeleton”.

Yoni Shlomo continues to harass Dinah with SMS. The text messages are written in order to belittle and manipulate Dinah. The latest text was that he needed to go back to Israel right away and he asked if she is going to remain sane.

Azimow Leadership: Understanding The Policy of No Divorce. (English & French)

Paris, France - [VLD] - In his 40 years-plus as the spiritual leader of the Jewish Chabad community of Paris, Rabbi Shmuel Azimov, has never allowed a divorce.

The Chabad community in Paris was developed by Azimov in 1967, when he was appointed as the chief emissary, by the late Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the spiritual leader of the Lubavitch-Chabad movement.

Since then, the community in Paris has grown to over three thousand families, with ten schools, dozens of synagogues and Chabad community centers.

Throughout the years, while Azimov officiated hundreds of weddings, bar mitzvahs, circumcisions and other religious ceremonies, he has never performed a Get (Jewish divorce). In fact, couples who need to divorce, know not to go to Rabbi Azimov, because, he enforces a strict "no divorce" policy.

Azimov who is known to offer rabbinical counseling and advice on all matrimonial issues, has been involved in the case of Dinah and Yoni Shlomo. Yoni Shlomo, a Chassidic singer who has been accused by his wife Dinah of physical and emotional abuse toward her and their three children, is a member of the Chabad community of Paris.

Several months after their wedding, Azimov invited the couple to his office, located at the Local (the first Chabad center on Rue Lamartine, in the 8th arrondissement in Paris ). This private counseling took place, because of the reports filed by Dinah's parents, who spoke of the physical abuse Dinah had suffered from her husband Yoni. Dinah's parents were ardent followers of Azimov since 1968.

Meanwhile, years passed, the abuse continued, and although Dinah's parents addressed their concern with Rabbi Azimov, nothing had been done to rectify the situation; the rabbi continues to enforce the "no divorce" policy.

At one of their meetings, after Dinah's parents saw Azimov, he gave them no hope. In his opinion, "Yoni needs to work on himself," and according to him, that's all he could say. Furthermore, when Dinah's parents and brother begged Azimov to intervene, after the oldest child's multiple attempts at suicide (at a Paris' metro station, the child attempted to jump in front of a train, and at home, the child attempted to drown in the bathtub). Although these were clear signs indicating that the child was not coping, Azimov advised, "Stay out of it, and let the rabbis do their jobs."

Dinah's family felt helpless, and asked Azimov's son, Rabbi Levi Azimov for an explanation, how is it possible that a rabbi is presented with evidence, and he will still not suggest a separation or permit a divorce.

Levi Azimov (who in the last few years, has taken over the leadership of the community after his father suffered a stroke, which left him crippled), took the same position he had often heard from his father. In fact, he reiterated what his father had said, and added, "The Rebbe (referring to the late Lubavitcher Rebbe) holds that divorce goes against the values of the Torah, and we should not force a couple to get divorced."

Quoting the Lubavitcher Rebbe's position, Levi continued, "Some neshomos (souls) come down to reside in bodies in order to do battle throughout their lifetime. If we separate them, the mission will fail, and they will have to come back to finish their mission in a gilgul (in reincarnation)."

Then Rabbi Levi Azimov tried a different tactic, one meant to instill fear, as he said, "We know of many cases, in the community, where a family encouraged a family member to get divorced, and it always ended in tragedy. Shortly after the divorce, someone in these families always died. Therefore, we cannot force or encourage a divorce." He went on to name two families: one in Brunoy (suburb of Paris), and one in Paris, where tragedy struck after a divorce took place.

But a troubling question remains. Was this truly the Lubavitcher Rebbe's position? Are these his values, his position on divorce, or have they been altered? Was the Rebbe totally against divorce, or would he make exceptions? Like in Dinah's case; would the Rebbe maintain this position, or support the idea of a Get?

According to a Rabbi from a prestigious Chabad Yeshiva in Brooklyn, NY, who is considered an expert in the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, "This preaching is a sham. This policy of no divorce, is clearly against the Rebbe's position and values. What Azimov is saying is sheker vechasav (total deception). The rabbi's name appears on the official report, and it will soon be released to Beth Din (Jewish court).
If the Rebbe was tolerant toward divorce, when it was a necessity, how is it that Rabbi Shmuel Azimov and his son doesn't see it that way? What right do they have to misinform their followers and their community? Why would he (they) deliberately misquote the Rebbe?

Azimov will not budge. His holds onto his belief, and the "no divorce" policy continues.

Moule (as he's called by all his followers) knew the Sudry family's concern for their daughter Sterna, who was physically and mentally abused by her husband, Daniel Kaufman; how she was almost killed when Kaufman attempted to throw her out a window. Azimov knew, because Chaim Sudry, Sterna's father, is also an ardent follower of Azimov. In fact, Chaim Sudry holds a director's position in the non-profit commercial wing of the Beth Lubavitch, which accounts for tens of millions of dollars in revenue, and Azimov is the president. It is logical that Chaim Sudry would seek Azimov's help, but Azimov would not budge. He maintained his position on divorce, and was even against separation.

Sudry defied Azimov's policy on separation, and gave his daughter and grandchild a safe haven in his home. Several months later she obtained a divorce from a different rabbi, and the painful nightmare ended.

Sudry confided, "This was totally against Azimov's ideals, but under these circumstances, I could not support him. But now, we just don't talk about it."

While the questions on this "no-divorce" policy could only be answered by Rabbi Shmuel Azimov, the hope is that his policy of "no divorce" will not end in tragedy, like the Coleman case in Florida; where the husband murdered his wife and children because of the ministry's policy of no-divorce. Eventually, charges were filed against the ministry, and the spiritual leader was held accountable; They knew, all along, about the issues in this family.

This cautionary tale should be read by Azimov and his son, as well as those who believe that the "no divorce" policy is a good one.

Plusieurs mois après leur mariage, Rav Azimov reçoit le couple dans son bureau au Beth Loubavitch (premier Beth ‘Habad de Paris situé au 8 rue Lamartine dans le 9ème arrondissement) .

Cet entretien privé eut lieu suite aux plaintes des parents de Dinah qui avaient fait part au Rav Azimov de l’abus physique que Dinah subissait de la part de son mari Yoni. Les parents de Dinah sont des fidèles ‘hassidim de Rav Azimov depuis 1968.

En attendant, les années passèrent et l’abus continua, et malgré les nombreuses plaintes adressées au Rav Azimov, rien ne s’est mis en place pour arranger la situation, Rav Azimov observant toujours une politique de non divorce.

Lors de l’une de leurs rencontres avec Rav Azimov, celui-ci ne leur laissa plus aucun espoir. Selon lui, « Yoni doit travailler sur lui-même » et qu’il ne pouvait rien faire d’autre.

Plus tard, quand les parents et le frère de Dinah ont supplié Rav Azimov d’intervenir, après que la fille ainée de Dinah fit plusieurs tentatives de suicide (dans le métro à Paris, elle essaya de se jeter dans les rails à l’arrivée d’un train, et à la maison de se noyer dans le bain). Malgré des signes clairs indiquant que l’enfant «était pertubée, Rav Azimov déclara : « Ne vous mêlez pas, laissez les rabbins faire leur travail ! »

La famille de Dinah se sentit alors désespérée et demanda au fils du Rav Azimov, Lévi Azimov, une explication : pourquoi, lorsqu’un rabbin est confronté à de telles évidences, il ne propose pas une séparation ou ne permet pas de divorcer.

Lévi Azimov (qui, au fil des dernières années, a pris la direction de la communauté ‘Habad après l’attaque cérébrale de son père) a adopté la même position que son père. Il s’est contenté de répéter les propos de son père et a rajouté: « Le Rabbi tient que le divorce va à l’encontre des valeurs de la Torah et nous ne devons pas forcer un couple à divorcer. »

Citant la position du Rabbi de Loubavitch, Lévi poursuit : « Certaines âmes descendent dans un corps afin de se battre toute leur vie. Si nous les séparons, leur mission échoue et elles devront redescendre dans le monde pour se réincarner afin de terminer leur mission. »

Puis Lévi Azimov essaya une autre tactique d’intimidation en disant : « Nous connaissons beaucoup de cas dans la communauté où une famille a incité un membre de la famille à divorcer et cela a toujours fini en tragédie. Peu de temps après le divorce, l’un des membres de ces familles finit toujours par mourir. Pour cette raison, nous ne devons ni forcer ni encourager un divorce. »

Il cita ensuite deux familles, l’une de Brunoy et l’autre de Paris, qui, quelque temps après un divorce, furent touchées par une tragédie.

Mais une question troublante reste : Est-ce vraiment la position du Rabbi de Loubavitch? Sont-elles ses valeurs, sa position sur le divorce ou ont-elles été transformées?
Le Rabbi était-il radicalement opposé au divorce? Ou faisait-il des exceptions? Dans le cas de Dinah, le Rabbi resterait-il sur ses positions ou soutiendrait l’idée d’un divorce?

Selon un rabbin d’une yéchiva ‘Habad prestigieuse à Brooklyn, NY, considéré comme expert dans les enseignements du Rabbi, cette politique de non divorce est clairement contre les positions et valeurs du Rabbi. Selon lui, les propos de Rav Azimov ne sont que mensonges. Le nom de ce rabbin apparait dans le rapport officiel et sera bientôt publié au Beth Din.

Si le Rabbi tolère le divorce quand il s’avère être une nécessité, comment se fait-il que le Rav Azimov et son fils ne le voient pas de cette façon? De quel droit ont-ils de désinformer les membres de leur communauté? Pourquoi donnent-ils une interprétation erronée, voire mensongère des paroles du Rabbi?

Rav Azimov tient fermement à ses principes et la politique du non divorce continue.

« Moulé » (comme l’appelle les ‘hassidim de Paris) connaissait les inquiétudes de la famille Sudry pour leur fille Sterna qui a été physiquement et émotionnellement abusée par son mari Daniel Kaufman au point qu’elle a failli mourir lorsque son mari tenta de la jeter par la fenêtre.

Rav Azimov était au courant de toute l’affaire ; le père de Sterna, ‘Haim Sudry est aussi l’un de ses fervents fidèles. En effet, ‘Haim Sudry dirige le service de vérification des Tefilines et Mezouzot du Beth Loubavitch, et Rav Azimov en est le Président. Il était donc logique que ‘Haim Sudry se tourne vers Rav Azimov pour obtenir son aide et ses conseils. Mais Rav Azimov n’a pas changé sa position. Il maintient la même politique sur le divorce et s’oppose même à la séparation.

Mr Sudry s’oppose alors à la politique de Rav Azimov et séquestre sa fille et ses petits-enfants à son domicile. Plusieurs mois plus tard, elle obtient le divorce d’un autre rabbin et le cauchemar est terminé. Sudry se confie: « C’était contre les principes de Rav Azimov mais dans de telles circonstances, je ne pouvais pas être d’accord avec lui. Maintenant on ne parle plus de ça ! »

Cette politique de non divorce devrait être justifiée par Rav Azimov lui-même dans l’espoir que cette politique ne se termine pas en tragédie comme l’Affaire Coleman en Floride où le mari a assassiné sa femme et ses enfants à cause de cette politique de non divorce.

En fin de compte, le rabbin fut tenu responsable cette tragédie du fait qu’il connaissait parfaitement tous les problèmes de cette famille.

Cet article devrait être lu par Rav Azimov et son fils et par tous ceux qui croient que la politique de non divorce est la bonne, voire la meilleure solution.

They try to maintain control over their spouse by not letting them be independent. They need to be the only provider, and thereby keeping control; manipulating the spouse for further attachment."

In the last several weeks, Yoni Shlomo has continued with his narcissistic behavior. He developed a serious obsession for Avraham Fried.

Avraham Fried is a popular musical entertainer in the Orthodox Jewish community, and he is famous throughout the world. Fried began his career with the release of his first album in 1981, and he is considered a leading star, one of the greatest in Jewish history.

Yoni Shlomo discovered his vocal talents around ten years ago, and from the beginning, he mimicked Avraham Fried. This was seen in the style Yoni chose to sing, and he went further, by trying to dress and look like the star. In fact, Avraham Fried, became Yoni's obsession, as Yoni tried to perfect his voice and his image, to sound and look more like Avraham Fried, the real star.

As time went by, Yoni Shlomo's obsession continued. He would watch all of Fried's videos, for several hours a day, rehearsing his every move and facial expressions. It became obvious that Yoni accomplished to alter the resonance of his voice to such a degree, he began to sound like Avraham Fried.

After receiving a phone call, Yoni Shlomo left the computer, and when Mr. Host went to use the computer, he saw the “inbox” of a hotmail address. The name on the address was AvrahamFried@hotmail.com. Shocked and disturbed, Mr. Host examined this further. He was able to view all kind of emails received and sent from Avraham Fried, and by all accounts, Mr. Host was able to ascertain that individuals who were writing, thought they were emailing Avraham Fried. Mr. Host gave us the full account of this story.

Note: Avraham Fried was told about it, a few months later, and was shocked and upset about the incident.

What’s even more disturbing is the friendship that took place between Avraham Fried and Yoni Shlomo.

As a charming individual, with a sense of humor, it didn't take long for Yoni Shlomo to befriend Avraham Fried. This friendship deepened when Fried traveled to Paris, for his concerts tour. When Fried would land at Charles De Gaulle airport, Yoni Shlomo turned into a servant. According Dinah, Yoni’s wife, "Yoni would stop everything he was doing, leave his house, and he'd even leave the family for a few days, for Avraham Fried. There was an individual hearing by the Police Children Protection Services, whose goal was to determine how much damage Yoni Shlomo's behavior has done to their children. Bertrand Polo, director of the Children Protection Services, promises an in-depth investigation, where not only the physical, but psychological damages will be taken into consideration.

The content of the chidren’s report remained sealed and classified, but according to sources familiar with the case, the report shows that Yoni Shlomo's behavior has affected them “sensitively.”

In another private hearing with Dinah, the police warned her that any attempts to “cover up” or “lie” about the facts, can result in perjury which is a punishable offense. Dinah promised to say the whole truth.

The proceedings have been suspended until after the Jewish holidays of Passover. The investigation is expected to last six month.

There’s No End to Yoni Shlomo’s Chutzpah.

Paris, France - [VLD] - This is the month of Adar, which has always represented joy in the Jewish culture, and Yoni Shlomo took advantage of the festivities around him, by appearing uninvited at the Chabad Yeshiva, in Brunoy near Paris, claiming (on community websites) that the administration hired him. He claimed that because he had such a high regard for the Yeshiva, he would perform at this Yeshiva for free.

In the meantime, the administration had no knowledge of Yoni Shlomo being hired. Keep in mind the Jewish community knows that Yoni Shlomo abused his wife, and children. And speaking of chutzpah, Yoni arranged to get pictures of the Mashspia (spiritual leader) near the dancing floor, making it appear that the Mashpia consented, when in fact not the Mashpia, not any part of the Yeshiva’s administration knew anything about this deal that Yoni Shlomo cooked up.

As these changes occur, one has to wonder how much more underhanded things will the Jewish community tolerate from this abuser. There is something wrong when a man abuses his wife, his children, and still reaps life’s rewards.

Dans cette lettre, il dit qu’il veut se protéger contre mon frère qui veut me faire divorcer et qui fait tout pour le salire. Ce qui n’est pas vrai parce que avant cela, mon frère lui avait écrit une lettre et lui donnait des solutions pour que ça s’arrange, mais il ne les a pas accepter. Et donc il voulait se protéger en me faisant recopier cette lettre que j’ai écrite « contre mon gré », je n’avais pas le choix. C’est de la manipulation et je tiens à préciser que tout ce qu’il y a écrit dans cette lettre, ce n’est pas moi qui m’exprime.

Mon frère voulait me protéger et pensait que j’étais en danger avec lui, suite à de nombreux événements graves qui se sont passés chez moi.

Beth Loubavitch Gala 5770: Who Hired Yoni Shlomo? Mendy Azimov says it was 'Haim Sudry.

Paris, France - (LVD) - Last month, the Beth Loubavitch of Paris headed by Rabbi Shmuel Azimov and his sons Mendy and Levi, celebrated the annual gala at the Equinoxe Salon in Paris.

To the surprise of everyone, Yoni Shlomo took the microphone and sang in front of hundreds of supporters and members. It was a disturbing scene, because just weeks earlier, the news was out that Yoni Shlomo beats up his wife and kids. The ultimate question was raised: "Who hired him to sing?"

Many phone calls were made to those who organized this gala, and one of these calls were made to Mendy Azimov; Rabbi Smuel Azimov’s son. According to Mendy Azimov, “It wasn’t me who hired him (Yoni Shlomo), it was 'Haim Sudry. So call 'Haim Sudry,” said Azimov, in a phone interview (click here to hear the phone interview).

'Haim Sudry, born in Morocco, is a staunch supporter and disciple of Rabbi Shmuel Asimov, the spiritual leader of the Chabad community in Paris. Sudry, started to work for Azimov in 1975 and was then appointed to manage the multi-million-euro business wing of the Beth Loubavitch which consists of importing religious items (tefilin, torah scrolls, etc.) from Israel and reselling them to the Jewish community in Paris.

The irony is that 'Haim Sudry’s daughter Sterna just finished a messy divorce with her abusive husband. When Sudry learned that his son-in-law beat his daughter, and that it was a miracle that he did not kill her when he attempted to throw her out of the fourth-floor window, he was outraged and rightfully so; he is her father. Equally understandable, that wanting to protect her, he gave his daughter refuge in his home, and encouraged her while she awaited her divorce. How can a man whose daughter having gone through this, be so blasé as to hire a man who is accused of nothing less than beating his wife and children.

We have not been able to speak to 'Haim Sudry, and still await his phone call. The all important message we need to deliver, “When all is said, you go back to your life; especially, knowing that your daughter Sterna is safe. But … who will protect Dinah, and the precious children?” Another words, as long as he gets the support from the communities, Yoni Shlomo can live happily, while his wife, children, extended family members and dear friends pray, even as they suffer. “DO YOU HEAR THAT 'HAIM SUDRY ?”

Breaking: Yoni Shlomo Staged Daughter In Home-Made Video.

Paris, France - [VLD] - Last Friday, Yoni Shlomo set up the camera, then he instructed his nine-year-old daughter; the oldest of three children, to make false accusations against her mother – he would not take no for an answer.

This home-made video was made a week after Yoni Shlomo received official notification from OSE (the agency for child services in France), to appear in front of an assembly; this would be a hearing for a particular reason.

OSE is investigating the charges of child abuse; whereby Yoni Shlomo is accused of beating his children.

We contacted OSE to give us a statement but we were told that the case was in a middle of an investigation, and we would have to wait for their decision.

In the meantime, we know with certainty, that family friends and other family members have been called to testify in the case.

We feel that the doctors involved in this case will certainly be contacted by OSE; they provided the documentation that started the investigation.

In making this video, Yoni Shlomo hopes to deflects the attention he has been receiving, and make it appear as though the mother, rather than him, has inflicted the tell-tale signs of the beatings the children have received.

The video he orchestrated, in which he coerced his daughter to say, “Mommy is mean and she hits us ALL the time,” shocked, Dinah, the child’s mother. Previously, he asked and begged her to produce a video and to proclaim that he is a good and loving husband and father. She refused.

The hope is that the authorities will have a clear eye, when investigating this case, and they will not be swayed by this manipulative man.

Rabbi Shmuel Azimov & Sons Ignore Plea from Dinah’s Family

Paris, France –(VLD) -Dinah’s family pled with Shmuel Azimov to help control the abusive conduct of Yoni Shlomo that he directs against their daughter Dinah and her children.

Petitions and requests were sent to the leader of the Lubavitch community in Paris; more precisely to Rabbi Shmuel Azimov and his sons, Mendy and Levi to proactively put pressure on the singer Yoni Shlomo.

In these petitions, the family requests that Yoni Shlomo will be condemned for his criminal behavior, and as a singer, he will no longer receive the support of the community; that is, all establishments will refrain from hiring him, and thereby, he will no longer enjoy the luxuries the large sums of money afforded him.

After the celebration of 19 Kislev, where Yoni Shlomo sang in front of the Lubavitch community, he went back home to his wife Dinah and stated, “Did you see all these people applauding me? This is a sign that the whole world loves ME.” After that statement, his wife Dinah reported, “A few days later, on a Friday morning after an argument, Yoni slapped me so hard, I fell to the ground, and he ripped my sheitel (wig) off my head, to embarrass me.” The following Sunday when Dinah took her children to visit their grandparents, the youngest one said to her grandmother, “My daddy ripped off my mommy’s sheitel.”

“It’s been years since we are trying to help Yoni Shlomo to manage his anger, to stop the abuse, and now, we turned to the rabbinical community, to see if the rabbis can put some social pressure on him,” said one of Dinah’s siblings, who asked to remain anonymous.

But the ones who are in charge of this large Lubavitch community in Paris are Rabbi Shmuel Azimov and his sons Mendy and Levi. Calls were made to them, asking them to refrain from hiring Yoni Shlomo, at their annual gala. However, Rabbi Azimov decided to ignore the family’s request and gave his support to Yoni Shlomo; the rabbi gave him the public stage to appear.

“This is appalling,” said Reouven Boudjna, who is a member of the community. “It is beyond my comprehension, why would Rabbi Azimov support a child and wife abuser.”

The family was not available for comments for this article. We asked them to please send us a statement. We are still waiting.

Update: Family & Police Requesting Not To Publish Nude Photos Affair.

Paris, France - [VLD] - The Police investigators, and Dinah's family have respectfully asked us to withhold on our search, and whatever we might learn about the investigation until a future date. As the possible criminal investigation continues, we will closely watch for upcoming results.

Several weeks ago, when we heard details of nude photographs involving singer Yoni Shlomo, we asked for a thorough search into this matter; in order to discover the truth. In the search we uncovered that the police were looking quite deeply into this matter; and in fact Sergeant Phillip LaCroix, from the prosecutor's office warned us, "We are in the middle of a serious investigation, for the sake of the family, which includes children, and to allow due-process to work, we are asking everyone's cooperation.”

The case of the "nude photographs" erupted a short while after Yoni Shlomo, a Hasidic singer living in Paris, France, was accused of beating up his wife and 3 children. Police reports and doctor certificates were made public on the Internet creating an uproar in the Jewish community around the world.

We also contacted the family to validate the details of the "nude photographs," and we were asked not to publish the details. "... It will affect Dinah and her children in the long run," said one of Dinah's siblings, who asked to remain anonymous. It was further stated, "Please do not publish this story. If and when the time is right, we will let you know..."

We will respect the wishes expressed by the family and the police. We will continue following this story, and our readers can be assured that as long as it will not interfere with the police investigation, or cause undue stress to the family, we will be continue to keep you updated.

Essay: Why Did She Stay With Him?

This is perhaps the question people ask most frequently when hearing of an account of a woman who was repeatedly battered. While it is a logical question which deserve an answer, it may also betray a cultural attitude, i.e., that the woman who was the victim of the battering actually contributed to her misery by not leaving the relationship earlier. In a way, this places blame on the woman instead of on the man who committed the criminal assault.

This is not an unusual occurrence. We seem to have a tendency to blame the victim. There are those who hold the victim of rape responsible as though she had seduced the rapist. The question ”Why did she not leave him” seems to accept the batterer as a given, as though nothing can be done about him, which then makes the wife’s leaving the only apparent solution to the problem. Perhaps if the focus were on making certain that the batterer did not have an opportunity to repeat his assault, there would be no reason for the woman to leave.

When listening to an account by an abused wife, it is common to hear her say, “When it happened at first I was upset, but I didn’t panic. Although he did hurt me, I felt I could change him. It wasn’t until much later that I realized that he was set in his ways.”

Because of the frequency of this attitude early in the course of abuse, I must reiterate that it is a serous mistake for a woman to think that she is going to change her husband. It’s about time we stopped filling our young children’s impressionable minds with stories about a beautiful princess who kisses a frog and turns him into a charming prince. For women who think they can change their husbands I say, “You will not change a frog into a prince, nor an abuser into a non-abuser.”

I do not mean to imply that a person cannot change. Change can occur if the person himself so wishes, and such change will come about if he recognizes that he has a need to change, but change can be only by the person’s own effort. You, the wife, cannot change him. Nor is there any value in the promise of an abuser never again to repeat his actions, anymore than there is in the promise of an alcoholic that he will never drink again. The behavior that elicits such promises may have been traumatic and destructive and the alcoholic or abuser may manifest such profound remorse that their sincerity appears unquestionable. Experience has thought us that neither remorse nor promises have any reliability whatsoever.

Let us now turn to the question, Why would a woman stay with an abuser? Why doesn’t she simply up and leave? The answer is because there is no “simply up and leave.” Our social structure has not provided a battered wife with conditions that would facilitate her leaving.

Firstly, she and her children are likely to be totally or largely dependent on her husband’s earnings. Who will support them if she leaves? Recourse to the courts for support is not satisfactory. There are many deadbeat fathers who do not support their families.

Secondly, where are she and the children to go? She has a furnished home, where she and her children have their rooms and all of their belongings. She may be able to reside temporarily in the shelter (if the community she lives in has one), but obviously a shelter is not a permanent residence.

Let us suppose that she is able to relocate away from her husband. Many batterers are vengeful, and have carried out their threats to find the wife and kill her. Is she to live in constant fear that her husband may show up at any moment and hurt or kill her? You may suggest that she obtain a court injunction or order of protection barring the husband from contacting her. Let me inform you that many women have been killed by the battering husband in spite of their being in possession of an order of protection.

Fourth, society may not look favorably upon a woman who leaves her husband. She was supposed to “preserve the family unit,” and she may feel that she is a deserter. Also, she thinks (and rightly so) that no one will believe her. In many numbers of cases, a woman has fled to the asylum of her parent’s home, only to have them urge her to return, because “the children need a father.” The ignorance that abounds about behavior of an abuser is alarming, and well-meaning but unknowledgeable parents have sent their daughter to her doom.

Fifth, in some cultures, such as the Orthodox community where marriages are initiated by a shidduch (matchmaking) a young man or woman from a home where there was known to be abuse may not be considered favorably for a shidduch. Knowledge in the community of significant discord within the home may stigmatize the children, hence the penchant for secrecy. One woman, the mother of nine children, of whom the oldest three were married, stated that her young child was seven years old, and that she must remain in an abusive relationship for the next 12 years until this youngest child is married. For her to leave the marriage would be to stigmatize he children, and she felt that having brought the children in the world, she has the responsibility to protect them from stigma, and to avoid setting up obstacles to their happiness. She was therefore resigned to tolerate 12 more years of torment! It should be apparent that the husband, well aware of this attitude, feels himself empowered to behave as he wishes, since he knows that his wife cannot do anything to thwart him behavior.

The later point is throughout. The many factors that make it unrealistic for an abused woman to leave also reinforce the abuser, who feels there is no restraint to his absolute domination.

Sixth, the abused woman may have become so totally crushed that she may lack the confidence to do anything in her own behalf. Even if the means for independent existence were technically present, she may not have the emotional strength to take the initiative to leave

Seventh, a woman may stay in an abusive relationship because she is afraid that the husband will take the children from her. Controlling husband may flex their legal muscle and convince the wife that she has no change of having the children if she leaves.

Eighth, even if the woman is assured that she would have the custody of the children, she may feel that it is better to maintain the relations because, “my children deserve a father,” or “They love him.” While there is no denying that a wholesome marriage which provides children with two caring parents is ideal and is most conducive to the children’s emotional well-being, it should also be realized that there may be serious psychological damage to the children who witness an ongoing abusive relationships.

Finally, it is not uncommon for an abused woman to actually justify the abusive behavior. How often have I heard, “I thought I was doing something wrong. I felt I deserved it.” This feeling, while totally unrealistic, results in total self-effacement, with the woman becoming a non-person, which is exactly what abusing husband wishes.

In Torah there is a concept of community responsibility. If a person is found murdered and the assailant is unknown, the elders and leaders of the nearest community must declare, “Our hands did not spill this blood” (Deuteronomy 21). This requires a thorough self-searching, and the Talmud states that the community leaders must investigate whether the crime may not have been the result of dereliction by the community to provide for the victim’s welfare.

Some of the reasons why a women cannot leave an abusive husband are due to the community’s failure to make this more realistic, in which case it is not the woman who is at fault for not leaving the batterer, but the community for not making it more feasible.

Certainly the family, and especially parents, should be a prime resource for an abused wife. The decision to leave the husband, even temporarily, should not be made capriciously, but when adequate counseling and consideration result in such a decision, the woman should have the support of the family and community.

Breaking: Yoni Shlomo Threatening His Family

Paris, France – [VLD] - On Tuesday, January 19, 2010, Yoni Shlomo sent a message to his wife’s family stating that “if the website (this site) is not removed from the internet within twenty-four hours, he will initiate and win a lawsuit for three-hundred thousand (€300.000) euros.”

To date, Yoni Shlomo Zerbib continues to live with his wife, further torturing her, and the children. He had the audacity to claim harassment, and threatens to sue this particular website, if within twenty-four hours it does not cease to publish further stories about him. Furthermore, he expects to win this lawsuit for €300.000 euros, on the basis that he considers everything written about him as defamation to his good character. He will withdraw his suit if and when a formal apology is printed.

If our readers recall, last year we published the article titled: “Hasidic Superstar, Yoni Shlomo, Arrested” – in which we gave details about the abuse to his wife and children and his arrest.

While he spends all his time with friends; cavorting about, his wife Ne’hama Dinah, fearfully waits for his return; never knowing what hour that might be. He alternates between being morose, and arrogant. He will tell his wife that he cannot live anymore; he threatens suicide, and at the same time, he feels that he is entitled to do what he wants, with total disregard to his wife, children, and the rest of the family.

At some point Yoni Shlomo stated that he and his wife Dinah are bound together in a good and loving relationship. Because he wants to reconcile with his wife; claiming that his family is all important, and use this pretend-like life to counter attack the allegations. But his behavior belies his words.

All persons concerned: Ne’hama Dinah, her family and friends, wait for justice to be done. Unlike other situations, Yoni Shlomo is permitted to stay at home, while the hand of justice moves at a slow pace. He continues his tirades, destroying property (doors and walls have holes in the house from his fist-punches, according to a witness who asked to remain anonymous), but more important, scaring his wife and children.

Three Doctors to Testify In Abuse Case

Paris, France [VLD] - After the Chasidic local news website, CrownHeights.info, broke the news about an abuse scandal against Chasidic singer Yoni Chlomo, a strong uproar erupted from the Jewish communities around the world demanding answers from the Rabbis and leaders of the Paris community for having letting the abuse continue for so long.

"I am so disappointed in our Rabbis and so called Establishment", expressed Leah Cohen who is part of the community in Paris. Mrs. Cohen is not related to the victim. "Why the family (of Dinah) didn't run to medical professionals in order to secure proper treatment for their daughter is also alarming", continued Cohen.

Similarly, letters and emails have been flooding the websites asking why the victim did not seek medical help earlier.

An official investigation has been opened by the French authorities. The hope is to understand why the Rabbis – who knew about the abuse – did not do more to stop the singer’s actions and report them to the authorities.

However, after further investigation, three medical certificates have been discovered and it appears that the victim’s family did indeed consult several doctors as early as 2000, in order to save their daughter and her children.

Paris, France (LAP) - After denying the allegations against him, Yoni Chlomo is working hard to prepare his defense.

However, according to Rabbi Levi Kahn (the Rabbi who arranged the wedding ceremony for Yoni & Dinah), and Levi and Mendy Azimov, (sons of the Lubavitch leader in Paris, Rabbi Shmuel Azimov), the facts are undeniable, but they reject the idea of this blog and publicizing the story.

We were able to obtain additional documents from the French authorities confirming that Dinah had filled several charges against him in the last several years.

Paris, France (LAP) - A Hasidic super star was arrested for assaulting his wife and children at his home, in Montreuil near Paris.

Yoni Chlomo Zerbib, a Hasidic superstar, spent 20 hours in the National Police Station in Paris answering questions pertaining to the assault on Neshama Dinah, the woman he married in 1999, and his children.

Yoni Chlomo Zerbib, of Tunisian origin, lives in Montrueil near Paris. As a child he developed a love for singing and music. He has since produced two albums of Hasidic music.

In July 09, his wife Dinah, filed charges in the Supreme Court of Bobigny in Paris. In her deposition she writes how the superstar assaulted her with wire and how he forced her to have marital relations against her will during the Nidah. During this period, according to the Jewish laws, one has to abstain from sex.

The plaintiff’s charges, originally written in French, reveal shocking details about Yoni Chlomo’s character. It states: “He kept me imprisoned in the home while I was pregnant with my first daughter; he hit me with a cable wire and pushed me to the ground and against the wall.”

The horror of this story can be palpable when reading about the abuse to the children. “He is violent with my children; beating them with a belt and wire hanger, aiming for their arms and legs. On several occasions he will use one child’s head and bang it against the other child’s head, when they misbehave”

“I can’t believe this. This is appalling! I am in shock!” said Mena’hem Levy, a friend of Yoni Chlomo, whose shock turned to disgust.

It is hard to believe that such a man, who is ultra orthodox and considers himself a religious man, is capable of this kind of cruelty. We asked to speak to the family of the plaintiff, but they declined, stating that the matter is now in the hands of the police.

Calls were made to Yoni Chlomo for comments but were not returned.

In the Jewish community, wife and children abuse is a real problem and rabbis try to shove it under the rug. In this case, the family of Mrs. Zerbib hired attorneys to present the case to the rabbis and the court.

“These crimes will not remain unpunished,” said Martin Fleur the attorney for the family. “He raped his wife countless times, and abused the children until their blood was flowing. Justice will be served,” finished Fleur.

The family of the plaintiff says that they tried everything to bring about a solution; to assist Yoni Chlomo. Rabbis, doctors, therapists, friends intervened, and they even offered to help them out financially, but nothing helped. “He is ill and dangerous and nothing will help him,” said a friend of Dinah, who asked to remain anonymous.

France is known to have a slow legal system. In the USA the accuser would be arrested immediately, and put in jail. The hope is that the legal system won’t fail, yet again.
